- Crescentview is a short-run, panfandom relationship-based game inspired by the Harvest Moon series.
Characters arrive at Crescentview and are given the end goal of getting married. Within four months, characters are expected to present a white feather to the person of their choice and partake in the open wedding ceremony at the end of the game.
- Crescentview is a game based on relationship building. As a result, many of the events will be romance-oriented and slice-of-life.
- The game follows a 1 out-of-character day to 1 in-character day ratio.
- Crescentview is expected to run for approximately 4 months, each representing one season. It may change to become more or less, depending on the course of the game, but we aim to have a running period of 4 months.
- Partially.
Crescentview is currently a player-invite-only game. The game is first open to those on the mods’ plurk timeline. After 48 hours of applications opening, players may then extend their +1 invite. When the newly invited player submits their reservation or application, they must specify who they were invited by. The player who extended the invitation must then comment on the newcomer’s reservation or application to confirm that they did invite them.
- Applications are always open and are first-come, first-served with no challenge applications.
- We accept canon, canon AU, CRAU, and original characters. Silent and customizable protagonists are also accepted should canon provide a basis for their personality through extra content, dialogue choices, or various other canon materials.
- Yes, they must be at least eighteen years old.
- This is up to the player’s choice. Keep in mind, however, if the character is too large for the game setting, we will ask players to at least shrink the character’s size down to an average human’s height.
- In the beginning, yes. Characters will be stripped of their abilities. However, players may regain back their characters’ powers by providing bonus activity and on a case-by-case basis depending on the powers’ effect on the game.
- Characters who were dead prior to their arrival will be revived, but in regard to any injuries that they might have received while they were either alive or dead, it will be left up to the player’s discretion. Players may choose to have their characters completely healed or still suffering from their wounds. Any fatal injuries will be mostly healed to the point that they are no longer serious, but they will still be extremely painful and may potentially restrict movement.
- Canon updates will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please contact the mods in order to discuss the methods that can be used.
- There is a cap of ten characters per canon. This may be adjusted as needed.
- There is a cap of two characters per player. Players may apply for two characters at once.
- At this time, there is no player cap in place. This may change in the future.
- Characters wake up in bed on their designated farm in Cresentview. They will be given the key to their room, a white feather, and an electronic ID. If characters are partnered up prior to arrival, they will have separate beds, but the same room.
- Players have the option to partner up their character with another’s, causing the two to live on one farm. Players may either choose who their character’s partner will be or ask to be randomized.
- Characters will be able to bring items they had on their person prior to their arrival, so long as they are of reasonable size (less than a foot tall). Larger items must be regained through the player’s bonus activity. In addition, if an item is powered by a specific object, entity, or concept from their canon world, it will not function in the game. Players may regain the ability to use that item through bonus activity.
- Characters will not be able to bring pets or creatures with them upon arrival. They may, however, regain the creatures through bonus activity.
- The game takes place on an island called Crescentview, which consists of four different areas available for farming: the beach, the forest, the town, and the mountains. Players will choose where their character’s farm will be located.
More information about the settings in the game can be found on the Locations page.
- The townspeople are generally friendly and eager to help. The Goddess on the other hand… well, good luck.
- Characters stay on their farm, which is on a small plot of land. It’s not very spacious, especially if characters are partnered up, and it’s extremely run down. You may find some holes in the roof and stoves that don’t quite work, but at least you got shelter!
- Nope! You have landline telephones, though. Each farm is equipped with one phone.
- No. The technology here is pretty old-school, so there aren't even any computers.
- Upon arrival, characters will automatically know how to speak, read, and write in the common language of the region. If they ask the locals what the name of the language they’re using is, they’ll just shrug and say that it’s just The Language. In addition, if characters knew any other languages beforehand, they will be able to retain them.
- AC is 20 comments across 2 threads.
Upon their acceptance into the game, players must comment on the permanent AC page for their character. Underneath that comment, players must submit their activity each month with a new comment. There will be no reminders or warnings for the Activity Check, so players must be diligent about submitting their AC. Players may submit their AC whenever they like, whether it’s at the beginning of the month or at the end, as long as they do it before the last day of the month at 11:59pm EST.
More details about the AC requirements can be found on the permanent AC page.
- Players who achieve more than the basic AC requirements may submit their additional threads for in-game rewards. They may use their bonus activity to regain canon abilities or items, gain random game effects, or random non-canon items.
- Players must submit their bonus activity threads started from the previous or current month to apply towards a regain. For example: if it is October, players may only use threads which started in September or October for their bonus activity. Threads from August will not count and will be considered lost.
- No, there is not. You may submit as many bonus activity as possible.
- Yes, you may use threads that were squares or lines.
- Each character will have a bingo card that they can complete to earn upgrades for their farm. Each square will require an affectionate act that must be performed with another character. By completing this act, they will recieve a stamp on one of their squares.
- ICly, they are given physical bingo cards alongside their welcome pamphlet. Characters may destroy their physical cards, but they’ll just appear again somewhere on their farm. OOCly, they are randomized when a character is accepted.
- Once the act has been completed, the square will be magically punched the next time that they look at it.
- You can ask for minor upgrades to your farm. Examples of minor upgrades include a new stove, a fixed window, or new doors.
- You can submit it for major farm upgrades like additional floors on your home, expansion of land, etc.
- Congratulations! You get another bingo card. The Harvest Goddess is hungry.
- Players have the option to have smut squares on their bingo cards. In order to not overload a card with only smut, there will only be three smut squares per bingo.
- To get married, of course! Or so, the Goddess says.
- Yes :( The Goddess may not let you, though.
- Characters will be automatically revived by the next day and their wounds will be magically healed.
- The character will either be placed on auto-pilot or be permanently dead.
- Yes. You may then have the choice to either continue where the previous player left off or begin afresh.
- Based on the character’s contributions to the game, it may be allowed. It will be on a case-by-case basis.
- When a player goes on hiatus, the character will be on auto-pilot.
- Please ask below and a mod will answer shortly!

SO this wasn't on Mishka's application as a "power" because it's. not exactly? But I thought it over and it could be fun, so I wanted to volley the idea at the mods.
Basically, Mishka's thing is that he's cursed to transform into a monster thing (let's steal the cleric beast design for now), and he's holding that curse back by keeping it on the inside (hence insects, etc). While his "curse release" (monster form) is a thing that did happen in "canon" prior to the point I took him, I didn't consider it relevant to the app because a) not a power, ish? b) monster, that's kind of a bummer, c) there's no canonical way for him to revert from it.
However, after thinking it over, I think it could be fun to play with if a) he retains his sentience, even if his impulses are more feral, and b) there's some way to revert from it. This would become the monster kink option :')
In any case, I wanted to hash this out with mods and get permission/feedback on the idea. I don't mind burning bonus AC requests, for example, to get 1) Beast mode, 2) Prayer to the Goddess for a talisman to retain his sense while in beastmode, and 3) Prayer to the Goddess for another talisman to be able to revert back. But that's just one idea - really, I'm okay with anything (and I'm totally fine if staff isn't down with this idea, it's cool).

Sure, we're fine with this! First and foremost, we'll ask that you handle the gaining of his beast mode through bonus activity.
As for the talismans, asking for a single item capable of both retaining his senses and reverting him back to his human form is what we would suggest, the details of which can be worked out via a thread with the Goddess or by submitting for said item through bonus ac. If you go with the latter, please link back to this comment in case someone other than me (milky) processes your request.

This works for me!! I'll probably shoot for a Goddess thread for fun after he regains beast mode for bonus AC just because that seems like a fun convo :3c Thank you so much !!
