Name: Childe (alias), Tartaglia (11th Fatui Harbinger designation), Ajax (real name).
He switches between the first two titles more or less interchangeably (localization-dependent), but the latter hasn't been brought up outside of his character profile and isn't what he defaults toward. For the sake of ease, I'll be referring to him as "Childe" in this application.
Canon: Genshin Impact
Canon point: Patch 3.2
Age: As per his character profile in Patch 1.2 and onward, he's a young adult. Twenty (20) is my personal rough estimate.
History: WIKI
Personality: From the get-go, Childe is honest to a fault, sincerity taken to its logical extreme. However, the ways in which he displays these aspects are distorted: in the unflinching pursuit of power, he's adopted an unsettling capacity for violence and brutality, and his devotion towards the god he serves, the Cryo Archon, would have him willingly send a city to drown with only fleeting regard for the lives that would be lost. Rooted in hypocritical bias and past trauma besides, these sentiments— and these "necessary evils"— nonetheless comprise a fervent wish to remain true to himself. Kindness and compassion aren't shown just towards his family alone or those who have earned his respect, but freely given, as long as his loyalty isn't compromised. Even if his dedication can only be demonstrated in the heat of battle or other destructive outlets, he's always doing his absolute best to fulfill his promises, whether in protecting those he loves or safeguarding something as hopelessly dear as childhood dreams.
CRAU: N/A
Powers: He wields a Vision and Delusion, physical gem-like objects which help him manifest and control water and electricity with lacerating preciseness.
Childe can also shift into his Foul Legacy form, a state in which he grows several feet in height and takes on a decidedly more monstrous appearance. At the cost of severe bodily and mental strain, he's capable of exhibiting inhuman levels of strength and utilizing both elements in his possession at once.
Outside of those abilities, Childe can easily hold his own in a fight and displays acute technical proficiency with weaponry in general (his professed weakness is with the bow).
Inventory: Hydro Vision, Electro Delusion, a few letters, a pair of ludicrously expensive chopsticks, one Inazuma novel (gift-wrapped, unopened). No weapons, he's enough of a weapon as it is.
Likes: Strength, intense resolve, """a worthy opponent""", thrill-seeking inclinations, genuine sincerity and reciprocation in commitments. More than anything, Childe values straightforwardness and candor, and his preference leans heavily towards those who exhibit these traits in spades. Everything else comes secondary. Additionally, anyone willing to fight him gains his admiration.
Dislikes: Deception, rigidity, overcritical tendencies, wishy-washiness, undependability, passivity and apathy alike. He loathes artifice on principle, so it follows that he's not at all fond of those in the practice of unrelenting subterfuge, diplomatic or tactful or otherwise. Inveterate liars get no concessions from him.
Ideal dates/venues: Sparring, hours of fishing with company like a real sick degenerate, wandering around on the beach collecting shells, swimming, touristy sightseeing, stargazing, domestically cooking meals together but also going out to eat, trying new things to be adventurous but also to pick up new hobbies.
